Qualification
- There are two ways to qualify for a free cell phone: 1) Your income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, or 2) You already participate in one of these government aid programs:
- · Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps
- · Medicaid
- · Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- · Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
- · Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
- · Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance (BIA)
- · Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance (BIA)
- · Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance (BIA)
- · Tribal Head Start If you meet the income qualifying standards
- · Tribal Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
- · Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)

T-Mobile is also working with Walmart in a program called of the Walmart family mobile plan. This is the same Lifeline discount plan which is offered by T-Mobile, but it is marketed by Walmart. It is marketed under its own brand name in states where T-Mobile is operating.
